This panel will present the experiences of both Canadian and American foundations in integrating impact investing to achieve their mission, along with government and legal considerations. The discussion will highlight the positioning of foundations in Canada to leverage their assets to invest in social impact, along with some of the challenges and policy considerations to enable this approach. With all the great work that foundations do on the granting side, with both subject-matter expertise and networks, how can this be further leveraged through unique financial instruments like tailored financing, including equity or debt to achieve their charitable purposes?
